Ninja Fanart and Historically Accurate FootwearI HATE seeing artwork of ninjas wearing flip-flops. Stop already! :-(I've never been a fan of the itchy-twine-and-flip-flops look of ninjas, so I've been researching the historical accuracy of ninja footwear from time-to-time over the past few years. For example, it confuses me that samurai were armored from head-to-toe in umpteen pieces of armor, but then they somehow rode and walked around a battlefield wearing nothing but tabi socks and sandals. Tetanus ahoy! One of the best books I've seen on ninja clothing is the nicely-illustrated Ninja: AD 1460-1650 http://www.amazon.com/Ninja-1460-1650-Warrior-Stephen-Turnbull/dp/1841765252 from Os
